Police said yesterday that the two Portuguese men seen on closedcircuit camera escorting Canadian sisters Noemi and Audrey Belanger back to their hotel room prior to their death on June 15 were not suspects because the case was not considered a homicide.

Police inspected the clip after initial investigation of the sisters’ hotel room turned up a note left by Luciano Tinnto, 30, saying that he was sorry about what had happened that night as it was unintentional.
Muang Krabi deputy superintendent Pol LtColonel Jongrak Pimthong said police wanted to speak to the two men. Tinnto and his friend stayed in room 204 at the time and Tinnto had flown out of Phi Phi Island on June 15 and returned to Portugal via Phuket on June 17, Jongrak said.
