Power usage up on Euro'12

Power usage spiked during the broadcasting of Euro 2012 which began on June 8, according to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
Power usage during the semi-final matches during June 28-29 increased by as much as 475 megawatts. The quarter-finals during June 21-24 also boosted power demand by 350-400MW.
Piboon Buacham, assistant Governor for System Control, said that despite the higher demand, Egat will make sure that there would be no problem to the energy security.
