A total of 19.5 per cent of those surveyed said they supported the idea of drafting an entirely new charter, while the remaining 17 per cent opted not to answer the question. The survey was conducted on 1,265 eligible voters from 22 provinces in all regions of the country.
More than 45 per cent of respondents wanted the amendment to focus on certain problematic clauses, while slightly over 25 per cent said they saw no need to change the charter at all, because there was no problem with it. Only 9.3 per cent said the Constitution needs to be entirely rewritten because it had many problems, according to the Bangkok Poll.
