The Arintarat police SWAT team surrounded an apartment near Meng Jai Intersection in Bangkok for three hours early yesterday before arresting seven drug suspects and seizing guns and 25 grams of crystal meth, or "ice".
The team arrested alleged ringleader Pinit Taengwichien, 24, in a sting on the apartment’s ground floor at 4am and found a shotgun with two bullets in his car. It then surrounded the block and arresting six other suspects.
Pinit reportedly confessed to dealing drugs. He has been jailed three times before on drug charges, his most recent release coming five years ago.
Police were led to Pinit based on information received from a suspect arrested in a sting on Friday evening at a Huai Kwang shopping mall, which led to the seizure of 30 yaba tablets and 40 grams of “ice”.
