Ban Wah industrial estate 'safe from floods': House committee

Dykes at the Ban Wah industrial estate in Ayutthaya that are currently under construction should prevent flooding if water levels rise this year, a House committee member said on Monday.
Jatuporn Charoenchua, vice chairman of the House committee on prevention and relief of natural disasters, said the estate will be safe from floods this year.
He was speaking after inspecting the construction of antiflood dykes at Ban Wah industrial estate in Bang Pain district.
The government has allocated Bt550 million for the construction of the dykes, which are now 90 per cent complete. The project should be completed in the next few weeks.
