Arisara Thesaka, 30, and Anong Raksalert, 35, were hired through Facebook by a Nigerian man with the profile name of Kelvin Osondu. They were to be paid Bt150,000 to deliver the drugs to the man in Malaysia. Police said the drugs had a street value of Bt50 million.
Malaysian police arrested two other women from the same drug network and were now hunting for Osondu.
Meanwhile in Bangkok, police on Wednesday arrested Nigerian national Sinoso Charles Okokao, 28, and his Thai wife Unnada Pitak, 30, in Bang Kapi district. Police say the couple were selling “diamond-grade ice” smuggled from Africa to buyers in Chiang Mai and Bangkok for Bt5,000 per gram. Another Thai woman, Nujaree Inklom, had been hired to deliver the drugs, police said. She was arrested in a sting operation in September, which led to the arrest of the couple.
