Sanan in hospital after breathing problems

Chart Thai Pattana Party chief adviser Sanan Kachornprasart ended up in hospital yesterday after suffering a severe emphysema attack.

He was initially rushed to Nonthavej Hospital before being referred to Siriraj Hospital’s Respiratory Care Unit, Prof Dr Udom Kachinthorn, dean of the Siriraj Medical School, said. He added that the patient was not allowed any visitors, though Sanan’s son, Deputy Agriculture Minister Siriwat Kachornprasart, was allowed to see his dad.

Sanan’s personal secretary, Thanonsorn Lertritsirikul, said the politician had been suffering from emphysema for a while now and had to be taken to hospital because he had trouble breathing after a coughing fit.

Thanonsorn said doctors expect Sanan to be discharged in a few days.
