Lop Buri Office of Insurance Commission director Somkiat Nareepol said after the meeting that Sitthipol agreed to provide Bt350,000 compensation by next Tuesday (December 18)to Pralam Nuseng, whose son Winai died on November 28. Pralam had bought the SCB Life Assurance credit insurance under obligation from her creditor, the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC). After Winai’s death, SCB Life Assurance had claimed Pralam didn’t have a policy, so she filed a police complaint.
Other BAAC customers who bought credit insurance were also present. They were urged to file a police report if they had purchased the insurance policy but hadn’t yet received the contracts and receipts. SCB Life Assurance could then check how many people were affected and provide assistance later, Somkiat added.
