BMA to install 20,000 cameras

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will install 20,000 more security cameras next year, doubling the number of closed-circuit cameras now in use across the city, BMA spokesman Wasan Meewong said yesterday.
The first batch of 1,600 cameras will be installed in 300 areas where illegal drugs are a problem.
The Traffic and Transportation Department and Department of Drainage and Sewerage also were working on adjusting 1,098 water-drainage lids on bicycle lanes, he added.
