Suvarnabhumi, Siam Paragon top list of most 'Instagrammed' spots
Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport appears to be the most popular location for photographs shared via Instagram this year, with the capital's upscale shopping mall Siam Paragon coming in a close second.
More than 100,000 photographs shared via Instagram were taken at the airport, making it No 1 on the list of “2012’s Most Popular Locations on Instagram”. The two Bangkok locations even beat world-class tourist destinations like Disneyland, New York’s iconic Times Square and Parisian landmark Eiffel Tower – which came third, fourth and eighth, respectively.
Apart from Suvarnabhumi and Siam Paragon, the United States dominates the list with as many as seven locations in the list of 10 most “Instagrammed” spots.
Instagram is an online photo-sharing and social-networking service that enables users to take a picture, apply a digital filter to it and share it on a variety of social-networking services.
The number of Instagram users worldwide surpassed 100 million in September, with as many as 425,180 users in Thailand as of yesterday. These figures were released by a local social-network and data analysis application (www.zocialrank.com/instagram).
