Wall St ends up

US stocks closed up Tuesday as the Dow heads toward 14,000 mark while investors await Federal Reserve policy announcement tomorrow.
Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 72.49 points, or 0.52 per cent to close at 13,954.42.
S&P 500 added 7.66 points, or 0.51 per cent at 1,507.84.
Among S&P sectors, energy, telecoms and health care gained; consumer discretionary dropped.
Nasdaq composite lost 0.64 points, or 0.02 per cent at 3,153.66 with technology shares weighed by poor earnings.
