The ad hoc panel was vetting the bill that seeks to amend Article 68 and Article 237 of the Constitution.
At present, Article 68 does not clearly state how the people could send their petition to the Constitution Court. The bill that has been passed in the first reading requires that all petitions must be channelled through the attorney general.
But after the ad hoc panel met to discuss the bill Wednesday, the majority side of the panel agreed to add wordings to allow the people to submit their petition to the Constitutional Court directly if the attorney general dos not act on their petition within 30 days.
