The Election Commission has scheduled June 16 for the MP byelection in Bangkok's Don Mueng district, according to one of its members, Prapun Naigowit.
The by-election is to replace Pheu Thai’s Karun Hosakul whose voting rights were revoked for five years after he was found guilty of defaming Tankhun Jititsara, a Democrat Party opponent.
Candidacy registration will open from May 28 to June 1 and absentee voting will take place on June 9, said Prapun, adding that there would be no absentee voting outside the constituency.
Those who want to vote in advance can register from May 27 to 31, he said.
