Suspected insurgent killed in clash with troops in Narathiwat
Narathiwat - A suspected insurgent was killed when he and six other suspects clashed with troops in this southern border province early Saturday.
The clash happened at 4 am when 50 troops and rangers surrounded Putoh village in Tambon Rusoh Ok in Rusoh district following a tip-off that some insurgents were having a meeting there.
The suspects opened fire at the authorities, leading to an exchange of gunfire for about 15 minutes. The authorities later found Yamadee Hayibaka died at the scene.
The six other suspects fled the scene.
