P-Move steps up pressure on govt

The People's Movement for a Just Society (P-Move) Tuesday moved its protesters to surround gates to the Government House to pressure the Cabinet to give in to its four-point demand.

The P-Move protesters, who were earlier rally beside the Education Ministry, divided into groups to block the gates ahead of the weekly Cabinet meeting.
The protests prompted security officials to close all gates, except the gate near Orathai Bridge, which was used by Cabinet members and officials to enter the Government House compound.
P-Move leaders said they moved the protesters to the gates because they would like to hear the Cabinet’s decision on their four-point demand after Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung promised to pass on the demand to the Cabinet.
The P-Move leaders said if the Cabinet approved the demand, including the issuance of community land deed titles for landless farmers, the demonstration would end at 11 am or else they would go on protesting.
