TV thriller 24 to make comeback
Los Angeles - Espionage thriller 24 is to make a return to TV screens more than three years after the Kiefer Sutherland vehicle ended its original run in 2010, US television network Fox announced Monday.
The series will start screening again in May 2014 with 12 new episodes under the title 24: Live Another Day, Fox announced. Sutherland, 46, will reprise his role as super agent Jack Bauer.
The series originally debuted in 2001 and tapped into the widespread feeling of angst experienced by many Americans in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
Sutherland said he was excited to see his character return to TV.
"The response to 24 is unlike anything I have ever experienced as an actor before," Sutherland told Fox News. "To have the chance to reunite with the character, Jack Bauer, is like finding a lost friend. The story ideas from (producer) Howard Gordon are exciting and fresh and will not disappoint. ... Make no mistake, my goal is to knock your socks off."//DPA
