Message to MUJI against selling shark fin soup

Thais protestors folded origami sharks outside a MUJI store in Bangkok this week, as a message encouraging the multinational retailer to stop selling shark fin soup, according to organisers' press release.

Organizer Fin Free Thailand said consumption of shark fin soup is the main driver of a catastrophic decline in shark populations during recent decades.

Hot on the heels of World Oceans Day, the peaceful action coincided with a rally outside MUJI's flagship store in Toyko. More than 60,000 people have signed a petition respectfully asking the chain to remove shark fin products from its shelves.
