Govt mulls whether to lift Internal Security Act

The government may lift the Internal Security Act before Sunday, as the antigovernment rally has shown no signs of violence, Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnog said Thursday.

The security law has been imposed in some areas of Bangkok until August 10 in light of antigovernment rallies against moves to push through an amnesty bill.
Pracha said the government would make its final decision after the Peace Keeping Centre had evaluated the overall political situation.
