The election of senators would be the only issue tabled at next week’s meeting, said chief government whip Amnuay Klangpa.
The vetting committee has agreed to change the charter so that all 200 senators are elected, rather than some of them being appointed.
Respective vetting committees working on charter amendments have also concluded work on amendments dealing with the people’s rights to protect the Constitution, the party-dissolution penalty in cases of electoral fraud, and the requirement that parliamentary approval be obtained before a government signs an international agreement.
