Thai youths compete for Stockholm water prize

Thai Tap Water Supply Plc (TTW) worked last week with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) to promote youth winners for the "Stockholm Junior Water Prize" in the Swedish city.

TTW is the first Thai firm allowed by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) to send a team to the program. The winning team for the Thai Tap Water Junior Prize was three youths from Mahidol Wittayanusorn, a public school. Their research was on “instruments absorb heavy metals in wastewater from industrial factories by natural materials”. The Thai team competed with 30 youth groups from around the world on innovations to save water.
Thai Tap Water managing director Sompoch Sriphoom said: “We didn’t hope for a prize or trophy but our organisers want to foster the importance of water resources on youths. There were advances to invent new innovations, which could be applied and make create real benefits.”
