PM leaves for overseas trip

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has assigned her first deputy Pracha Promnok to keep the rubber farmer protest in control while she monitors the situation during her official overseas trip.

She left yesterday for Switzerland, Italy and Montenegro and will return on Sunday.
She insisted that her going to Montenegro was solely to establish relations with a new country.
The invitation was extended a long time ago and the visit would be a stopover of just one to two hours, she said.
She was criticised for conflict of interest in calling on the country that in 2009 granted citizenship her fugitive brother Thaksin.
