A court on Wednesday sentenced a Swedish-Lebanese man to two years and eight months in jail for possession of substances that could be used for explosives.
The Bangkok Criminal Court found Artris Hussein, 48, guilty of possessing "prohibited substances," including ammonia nitrate and ammonia fertilizer, upon his arrest in Samut Sakorn in January, last year.
The court initially sentenced Hussein to four years in jail, but commuted his term due to his good cooperation with the prosecutor.
Hussein was arrested after the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok tipped off Thai authorities to his whereabouts, the Thai News Agency radio reported.
