Protest leaders homes come under attack

The homes of two men who have led the ongoing protests by rubber farmers in Prachuap Khiri Khan came under grenade and gun attack early yesterday morning. No casualties were reported.

Theeraphong Kaewnual and Somchai Phoosit said they believed the attacks were motivated by their roles in leading the rally. The incident took place at around 2am when two vehicles arrived on the scene in Bang Saphan district and opened fire on their houses.
The attack, which also damaged the home of a villager not involved in the protests, was launched using M-79 grenades and military weapons, judging from the spent cartridges found at the scene.
