LRCT chairman Kanit na Nakorn said the bill, if it is rejected, would expire in 180 days.
The revision to grant blanket amnesty as per the bill’s Article 3 was seen as a breach of legislative procedure, he said, as the bill’s first reading only covered limited amnesty.
He also voiced disagreement with the idea of granting political clemency in corruption cases.

Pheu Thai seeks dissolution of Democrat Party
The Pheu Thai Party yesterday petitioned for the disbandment of the Democrat Party, citing the opposition leader’s involvement in street protests. The petition was submitted to Election Commission chairman Apichart Sukhagganond in his capacity as the political party registrar.
Pheu Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparit said Democrat and opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva spoke at a rally on Tuesday at Ratchadamnoen Avenue. The anti-amnesty rally was organised by Democrat MP Suthep Thuagsuban, and the presence of Abhisit was proof that the main opposition party had condoned agitation, he said.
Inciting the masses was a breach of Article 94 of the Political Parties Act, which is grounds for party dissolution, Prompong said.
