Meechai urges govt to find technical way to 'kill' amnesty bill

Former president of a national assembly Meechai Ruchuphan Friday urged the coalition to find a way of legal technicality to kill the controversial amnesty bill.

Meechai said if the Senate rejects the bill in the first reading and sends it back to the House, the draft will only be temporarily knocked out and can be revised 180 days later.
Although the government has pledged not to revive it, the people do not believe the administration.
He said the government should brainstorm experts on parliamentary laws how to kill the bill once and for all to pacify the people.
