Pheu Thai denies it proposes House dissolution

The Pheu Thai Party denied Sunday that its strategic committee has recommended the government to dissolve the House following mounting protests against amnesty bill.

Pheu Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparit said the party’s strategic committee did not hold a meeting on Saturday as reported.
He said the Pheu Thai only invited the leaders of three coalition partners to sign a public contract on Saturday and the strategic commitee did not have any meeting. The coalition signed the public contract that it would not revive the amnesty bill after it is rejected by the Senate.
“I think the false news was spread with political purpose,” Prompong said, adding that he had checked with the government leaders who also ruled out House dissolution.
