The money was to go to German organisations helping the injured and homeless after Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest on record, swept through the Philippines at the weekend, Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle told reporters after meeting in Delhi with Evan Garcia, undersecretary for policy with the Philippine Foreign Ministry.
Berlin had announced 500,000 euros of aid at the weekend.
The typhoon left a confirmed death toll of 1,774 people, but with thousands more feared to have been killed.
Westerwelle and counterparts from European and Asian countries were in the Indian capital for the Asia-Europe meeting, or ASEM, held Monday and Tuesday.//DPA
