Rural Doctors Society will not join three-day strike

The Rural Doctors Society announced Tuesday that its members will not join the three-day strike from Wednesday.

Doctor Kriengsak Watcharanukulkiart, the chairman of the group, issued a statement that his group agreed with the civil disobedience against the government because the government could not be trusted about its promise to abort the amnesty attempt.
But, Kriengsak said in the statement, doctors are obliged to help treat patients on around-the-clock basis so they could not join the strike.
Anyway, hospitals could manage time for personnel to join political activities in their provinces without affecting the treatments of patients, the statement said.
