Khunying Dr Porntip Rojanasunan, Justice Ministry inspector general, was speaking after performing an autopsy on Suthin, a leader of People’s Army to Overthrow the Thaksin Regime, who was killed on Sunday while leading a rally at an advance polling station in Bang Na district.
Porntip performed the autopsy at the relatives' request. National Human Right Commissioner Dr Niran Pitakwatchara also attended the autopsy at Ramathibodi Hospital.
It has not been possible to determine the bullet type or gun because the bullet exited without leaving a trace. Suthin sustained four marks from two gunshots, one in the armpit and one in the neck, Porntip said. The reports on the vehicle examination and on wounds sustained by injured protesters would need to be examined for clarity. The NHRC would hold discussions with Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) representatives on January 29 about the people’s right to protection, Niran added.
