BOT may slash 2014 growth forecast
The Bank of Thailand may revise down the 2014 economic growth forecast from 4.2 per cent to below 3 per cent.
BOT Governor Prasarn Trairatvorakul repeated the message on Friday, when meeting reporters.
He said that although the previous prediction had only been made in December, a number of factors suggest a downward adjustment.
It cited the ongoing political turmoil, which had led to sluggish domestic consumption and investment, a lack of public spending due to the absence of a permanent government, as well as the below-par performance of the export sector so far this quarter.
