Nabbed in Nong Khai

A French-Portuguese man, wanted for the smuggling of 300 kilograms of cocaine into France in 2012, was arrested at the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge in Nong Khai on Sunday.
Immigration Police commissioner Lt-General Panu Kerdlarppol told the press yesterday that Avelino de Jusus, 33, had been hiding in Thailand since last November and was arrested while trying to escape via the Thai-Lao border. The suspect has been blacklisted and the authorities will go ahead with getting him extradited to France soon.
