BMA to open six new 'one-stop service' centres for migrant workers

As the eight "one stop service' registration centres nation-wide had registered some 60,000 migrant workers so far, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is to open six new such centres Tuesday, a senior official said.
Department of Employment chief Sumet Mahosod said the new centres, which would run until August 14, would be set up in Rama-Indra Sports Center in Bangkhen, Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japan) in Dindaeng, Minthinthong City Hall in Minburi, Lumpini Youth Center in Pathumwan, Taweewattana’s Youth Center, and Bangbon’s Sports Center. Up to 1,000 foreign workers are expected to register at each centre, which will be manned by 10 of the department officials, he added.
