B1 million in earthquake relief for Yunnan

Thailand has donated Bt1 million to China to help people affected by earthquake in Yunnan. The ceremony on Wednesday was presided over by junta deputy chief Gen Tanasak Patimapragon and attended by Chinese embassy's representatives.

The assistance is aimed to help ease the pain of those suffering from the aftermath of the quake and is a gesture of friendship towards a neighbouring country with which Thailand enjoys an excellent relationship.
Wu Zhiwu, the Chinese Embassy’s minister counsellor, said the Chinese government and people were very appreciative of the kindness of Their Majesties the King and Queen in graciously sending messages of regret to the President of the Republic of China.
He further thanked HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for bestowing her royal property to help the victims.
