Prayuth denies junta pre-selected NRC members

Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha Thursday denied that the National Council for Peace and Order had already pre-selected members of the National Reform Council.
“Don’t worry about the locking of specs,” Prayuth said while holding a meeting of NRC members selection committees at the Army Club.
“I don’t know any of the candidates. Now, it’s a chance for all to take part [in the national reforms.”
It was speculated that the NCPO had its favoured candidates apply for NRC seats and its appointed selection panels would select the favoured candidates as NRC members.
Prayuth said the selection panels would have to careful screen the candidates and the selections must be done with transparency.
