Seven central provinces brace for northern runoff water

Seven central provinces, including Ayutthaya, are now bracing for possible floods as runoff water has already wreaked havoc in their upstream zones.

Ayutthaya, which is just an hour drive from Bangkok, has already seen concrete bunker going up in front of the riverside and famous Wat Chaiwatthanaram.
The Irrigation Office 12 has instructed the governors of Uthai Thani, Chainat, Sing Buri, Suphan Buri, Ayutthaya, Anthong and Lop Buri to nudge its riverside residents to start moving their belongings to higher ground.
Their upstream provinces such as Sukhothai have already been struggling with floods. Some hard-hit zones in Sukhothai were already under 1.50metredeep floodwater.
