The office would issue a memo to monks nationwide to tell them not to follow the abbot’s action, which was akin to falsely boasting of supernatural power, the office’s chief Nopparat Benjawatananun said.
Nopparat said he also urged the provincial head monk to ask 65-year-old Luang Pu Phim, after his health fully recovers, why he made such a claim and to give him an appropriate warning.
They should also check on donations made to the temple during this period. He said he personally thought that the monk didn’t boast but may have made such a statement out of personal belief while he was ill.
Chaiyaphum Hospital director Dr Sompong Charoenwat said the monk was transferred from Khon San Hospital to his facility on Thursday but didn’t want visitors and was preparing to move out of the hospital to get treatment elsewhere.
