Plan to demolish reporters' rooms to be scaled down or dropped

Reporters' rooms in Government House avoided demolition after pressure was put on Prime Minister General Prayut Chanocha by journalists.

PM Prayut Tuesday insisted the rooms will be renovated rather than demolished, however if the renovation is still opposed by the reporters, he would not pursue this move.
“Since I became the PM, I see you [reporters] live in limited space, therefore I would like to please you. If you want me to make it better with a good design I will. But if you don’t I won’t pursue and the money will not be wasted” said Prayut.
