Cabinet approves a string of promotions

Police General Chatchawan Suksomjit was named the new permanent secretary of the Justice Ministry yesterday.

His appointment was part of a string of promotions approved by the Cabinet, including Anusit Kunakorn being promoted to the position of National Security Council chief from the post of deputy secretary-general.
The Cabinet also named four advisers to the premier, which included three Army top brass, namely General Sakol Chuentrakoon, General Jeerasak Chomprasob and General Anantaporn Karnchanarat. Former diplomat Veerasak Futrakul was the only non-military person appointed as adviser to the prime minister.
Former ambassador Anuson Chinwanno was named deputy secretary to the premier for politics. The Foreign Ministry’s director general of the Asean Affairs Department Attayut Srisamut was named Thailand’s Ambassador to Austria, replacing HRH Princess Bajra Kitiyabha, who left her post to work at the Office of the Attorney-General from yesterday.
