Deputy Public Health Minister Somsak Chunharas Thursday proposed two types of levy on the rich so that the universal healthcare fund would have enough money to take care of the poor.
He said the group of some 600,000 richest may have to contribute Bt100 a day each to the fund while the second-richest group of some 6 million people may have to contribute Bt10 a day each.
