Novices in Chiang Mai hit by suspected food bug

About 50 novices from Non Khon Muang Temple who recently participated in an |ordination ceremony in honour of His Majesty the King were sent to hospitals yesterday for suspected food poisoning.

A dozen novices were rushed to Nakhon Ping Hospital in Chiang Mai after complaining |of high fever, runny bowels and stomach aches, which made them unable to eat, hospital director Dr Jessada Jittapat said.
One of the sick novices said the diarrhoea might be due to unclean water and dishes.
Initial information pointed to food poisoning but the investigation would be completed soon, the doctor said.
