Thrill seeker dies after cliff fall in Australia

Sydney (dpa) - A man who fell to his death from a cliff at the entrance to Sydney Harbour was identified Monday as a British thrill seeker who had jumped from some of the world's highest buildings.

Gareth Jones, 25, had completed more than 500 BASE jumps but died on Sunday after he climbed over a safety fence above the cliff to see the sunrise and lost his footing, police told reporters.
Acting Inspector Belinda Caddy told the Sydney Morning Herald Jones was not BASE jumping and it was a tragic accident. She warned people not to climb over safety fences.
