Navy helicopter rescues Greek man stranded on Koh Lan cliff

A Navy helicopter rescued a Greek tourist Tuesday evening after he was stranded on a cliff on Koh Lan off Pattaya coast at the spot about 150 metres above the sea level.

Bouras Thedoras, 37, was rescued at about 5:30 pm after Pattaya police were alerted. The helicopter rushed the man to the Utapao base and officials rushed him to the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

He said he saw the cliff, which is about 300 metres high, at the Samer Beach, and decided to climb it but he was struck half way. He explained that the upper half of the cliff had too soft soil for climbing and the cliff was too steep to climb down.
