About 260,000 poor people in Chiang Rai urgently need blankets and jackets, Chiang Rai disaster prevention and mitigation chief officer said Thursday.
He said his office has sought help from the Thai Red Cross Society and other charities. The lowest temperature on the lowlands in the northern province dropped to 11.5 Celsius degree Thursday morning.
