Another lese majeste arrest for posts

Police yesterday arrested a man for allegedly violating the lese majeste law and the Computer Crimes Act by posting pictures, text and a voice clip on the Internet.

The man, identified as Chayo Anchaleewatchara, was arrested for spreading the content on his Facebook account under the pen name of Uncha Unyo.
Royal Thai Police spokesman Pol Lt-General Prawut Thavornsiri said at a press conference yesterday that Chayo had been acting in concert with other alleged accomplices and that two or three more suspects would be arrested soon. Police said Chayo confessed to the crime, saying he had been swayed by content he had read on the Internet, so he had spread the messages and images for more than a year before his arrest.
Police also warned that the content in question was not true and was produced and disseminated with the intention of causing social divisions. They said it was illegal to spread such texts and images.
