Constitutional Drafting Committee (CDC) president Borwornsak Uwanno ordered a closed-door meeting to discus the topic.
Some members disagreed with the proposal, stating that it would affect many military court judges who were board members of state enterprises.
They argued that these judges should not be stripped of their board membership because the military court only had power in military affairs and had nothing to do with other organisations – hence no conflict of interest.
The CDC was meeting on the sixth day of the charter drafting process, with the discussion centred on legal principles, the courts and independent organisations.
Drafters also agreed to insert a cause in the constitution that was designed to speed up the legal process and publicise court decision to benefit society and the court system.
