No sign of rape, wounds on Koh Tao victim

No traces of semen or wounds have been found on the body of the young British woman who died on Koh Tao last Tuesday.

Pol Maj General Pornchai Suteerakune, director of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, said yesterday that the autopsy on Christina Annesley, 23, did not uncover signs of foul play.
It was not yet possible to conclude the cause of her death.
Annesley was an activist who came to Thailand for sightseeing. Koh Tao is a popular resort island off the coast of Surat Thani.
“Her body was found inside her room at a local hotel,” he said.
The institute conducted a test for toxic or chemical substances in her body and the results of the test would be out today.
Annesley’s remains would be sent back to the United Kingdom in accordance with her family’s wishes, he added.
