Prayut ready to testify

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Thursday said he is ready to testify about his involvement in the fatal crackdown during the political chaos on anti-government protesters in Bangkok in 2010.

Prayut was army commander in chief during the period. He was responding to National Anti-Corruption Commission's decision to kick off the process of impeaching ex-PM Abhisit Vejjajiva and his deputy Suthep Thaugsuban for their alleged mishandling of the bloody break-up of a red-shirt rally in 2010.
Abhisit said after learning the charge that those who involved in the incident including Prayut would be invited to testify in the Court.
"I am willing to submit evidence to the body investigating Abhisit and Suthep. I may either submit the information or show up by myself," he said.
