Hanoi (Viet Nam News) -- Vietnam was committed to hosting the 132nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, to be held in the capital from March 28-April 1, said National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

The Vietnamese delegation will participate in sessions that focus on cyber war, water management, children's rights, the role of legislative bodies in ensuring adequate healthcare services for women and children, democracy in the digital age and threats to personal and privacy rights.
Speaking at the opening session of the NA Standing Committee's 36th session yesterday, Chairman Hung said the Interparliamentary Union meeting would provide important messages on peace, democracy and social fairness.
According to NA Committee for Foreign Affairs Chairman and Deputy Head of the Standing Organisation Committee for IPU-132 Tran Van Hang, 126 delegations have registered for the event.
The rehearsal for the opening ceremony will be held at the National Assembly House this Sunday. Relevant agencies are also working hard to tighten security for the event.
Hung said he appreciated the combined efforts made by agencies in fulfilling the remaining work to make the meeting a great success.
