Critics of Thai programme working on 'misconceptions'

Thailand had submitted an annual report on Trafficking in Persons (TIP) to the United States and other countries since late January - but the report had yet to reach the EU due to courier procedure delays, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Don Pramudwi

As a result, some members of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) had written articles based on old data, resulting in misunderstandings, he said. Thailand had now clarified and corrected these mistakes.
Don affirmed the government’s continuous attempts to eradicate human trafficking crimes had received co-operation from public and private sectors as well as NGOs. He said the government was gathering additional information for a final submission on March 31. He  said the situation had improved and many parties were paying attention to this national agenda.
