Woman, 80, killed by the Ubon Ratchathani train

An 80-year-old woman was killed by a train near the Yommarat Intersection in Bangkok's Ratchathewi area yesterday.

Local resident Jan Priamnong was found at 8.10am with a head injury and a broken right leg near the Ubon Ratchathani-Bangkok train. The victim was doing her usual morning walk along the railway near Sakeao Yommarat Community when she was hit by the train, according to witness Srimuang Buathong. Police Lieutenant Chroen Sukmak, of the Phayathai police station, said the police investigation found that the train stopped at a nearby station to pick up commuters when the victim was walking along the railway track. After the train departed, people spotted the victim and found she was dead, possibly after fatally colliding with the train.
